Mesa Juniors Have Another Back to Back Win
The Mesa Juniors club Volleyball team brings home another win. Mesa Juniors is a sanctioned volleyball club in Grand Junction. It is used by many school volleyball players during their off season to better their skills in the sport. Most of the girls on the Mesa Juniors team are from Palisade High School, so playing together during the off-season can enhance their performance for the next season. The girls traveled to Denver this weekend to compete in yet another tournament. Sadie Bunker and Rylin Elsrod, who are both freshmen at Palisade said, “We’ve both been playing since seventh grade. We have been playing for Mesa Juniors for 2 years. Mesa Juniors is a competitive club league to help players improve during their off-season of volleyball. You pay money to play for the club and you go to a whole bunch of tournaments on the weekend and practice together like you would a regular season, but you are with higher level coaches like college coaches who help you work on your fundamentals during the offseason. Our season has been going really well, we’ve won both of our tournaments and won first place in both. Our tournament this weekend was also pretty good. It really helps that we all work really well together as a team and understand how the people play.”
Overall the Mesa Juniors club team had a very successful last few tournaments and seem to be doing great in their season so far. We wish them luck going into the next few tournaments!
