Forget 12 days of Christmas, the Palisade Girls Basketball team has 12 games before Christmas. The team has had practice every day of the week but Sunday. This is to prepare them for their upcoming season. The girls basketball team will play half of their season games before Christmas. They started the year off strong, traveling through the snow for their first tournament in Carbendal. Before traveling, sophomore Imari Bosshardt was interviewed on how she felt before their games, explaining,“I am just excited to get back into basketball. We have been practicing a lot lately to help us condition and get ready for the games this weekend. As Coach Bavor says, we compete against each other in practice so that we can compete for each other in a game.” Playing in games Thursday through Saturday, their record is 2-1. Freshman Carlie Rhoden had her first high school varsity game. When interviewed Carlie said, “I think our team is ready for the game. Individually, I’m just super nervous. I think that if we work together, we’ll have a good time in good games.” Coming out of the weekend, Carlie shoots 27% form the three point line, has five assists and five steals. Currently, Imari has a total of 32 points and five seals from just these first few games alone. Imari is leading the team in three-point percentage shooting 50% from the line. Coming into this weekend the girls are going to the annual tournament held at Fruita high school. On thursday the girls basketball team will take on Frederick, Denver North and to finish off the weekend, Chaparral.

Brook Keeling, Advertising Manager
Hey Bulldogs! I’m Brook Keeling, and I’m a Sophomore here at Palisade High School. I’m the Advertising Manager for our amazing Paw Post. This is my first year in Newspaper and I‘m so excited to bring you all my stories. I play basketball for Palisade and hopefully am going to be one of many amazing FCA leaders. When I’m not in school I compete in a state wide Rodeo association and play volleyball. I also enjoy being outside in the fresh air and sharing the word of Jesus. I’m so excited for this year in Newspaper, I can’t wait to take pictures and write amazing stories about them. Let’s have a great year! Go Bulldogs!
