Fortnite has done it again by shocking everyone with new updates for the new season. However there are a lot of mixed signals for this season. The question is: Will Fortnite keep these changes, or take them away?
Since the Fortnite season just dropped on November 29th many fans like Tik Toker Grunchy are very upset with the new season. He says, “Taking the battle bus was dumb, and it’s harder to land where you want to without it.” They not only blew up the battle bus and switched to surf boards, but they also made new features, like you can revive yourself, different graphics, and new weapons to use as well. Some fans like the new updates and actually enjoy the changes, like Senior Kaedyn Nielsen, who states, “The new update is so fun to play, I think the new guns and sound effects make it more fun in the game. The only thing I hated was now I have to surf to land which is annoying.”
The biggest reason so many people hyped the game up before it came out was because in the sneak peek, it showed all past characters came back to fight and were put back into the item shop along with many new skins including Marty Mcfly from Back to the Future, League Of Legends, and the most popular, Naruto. The skins are what fans are most excited about. Nielsen states, “Even though I like a lot about the new season, the best part is definitely the skins, especially the ones that came back I didn’t get in the past.” So even though the new updates so far seem to be going downhill, Fortnite is still making some money with the skins for sure. The updates that have happened already are just the beginning for this season though: Fortnite is also doing their annual Christmas update soon, where you can get presents and gifts everyday just for checking in. Fortnite usually does a collaboration for the winter version along with many other skins and features like snow on the map and new winter versions of skins. This year, it looks to be The Grinch for winter 2025.
