The Bulldog football team displayed their true grit with a blowout game against the Steamboat Spring Sailors on October 24th at Steamboat with an ending score of 49-14. The Bulldogs were triumphant through each quarter, and showed everyone the resilience they brought onto the field. The team was very ecstatic about their win and it brought the hype for the team for the next game.
This is Junior, Jax Bavor’s second year playing football for Palisade, and he had much exciting input on the game. “Our passes were very great, our running was really good, and outside performed very well.” Commented Bavor. Bavor plays corner and wide receiver, and is a three sport athlete. Bavor has been playing football for around six years now, and is very enthusiastic about each football season that comes around. “The highlight of my game was tackling one of the other team’s players that would’ve gotten a touchdown.”
The team has been showing improvement throughout the season and some of the new faces on the Palisade Football team have been able to get playing time, experiencing what it’s like for their first year under the Friday Night Lights. Senior Gavin Poole plays center on Palisade’s football team, and was very enthusiastic about the win against Steamboat. “We had really good communication, and our teamwork was very good. We also had a lot of really good guys to move up the field.” Poole has been playing football since Kindergarten and the improvement and growth through his football career is clear.
Congratulations to the Palisade football team for their improvement throughout this season and fighting through each game no matter what challenges they faced. Make sure to show up to the next game at Stocker Stadium this Friday October 31st against Eagle Valley at 7:00 P.M. Great job Bulldogs!
