After two losses and a rescheduled game, the Palisade Bulldogs soccer team comes back stronger than ever, beating Fruita 1-0 on the 18th of September. The game started pretty slowly, with only a few chances for the Bulldogs to score and one huge chance for Fruita to score, but Senior goal keeper Eyithn Jannssen made a crazy save to keep the game 0-0 in the first half. The game was getting heated as both teams wanted to score, giving it their all. In the late second half, Jayden Ford received a pass from Sophomore Santiago Urdaneta, dribbled towards the corner flag, and crossed it straight to Jhonathon Hayes, who scored a tap-in. Fruita kept giving it their all, trying to tie or possibly win the game, but the Bulldogs were still too strong and won the game 1-0. “ We should have scored more goals, but we still did well,” said Huxley Peak when he was asked how he felt about the outcome of the game. This suggests that the players were pleased with their win, although they felt they should have scored more given the numerous chances they had. “We played very hard and played better than we usually do, and it paid off,” said Peak. This reveals that the Bulldogs had a very well-earned win and played very well compared to previous games. The bulldogs have three wins and three losses as of September 18th and hope to only increase their wins.
