Football is a very exciting physical sport to watch, but it can also be a slow, tiring sport to watch especially when it’s a hot, sunny afternoon with a very small student section. With only about 20 students attending and the game being at 4pm when other students have practice the game can get really boring. But with a couple nice plays, it boosted the mood for the Bulldogs.
On Thursday, September 18th, the Bulldog football team played Durango at 4:00 PM with a 6-17 loss. Junior Dashawn Jackson, a left tackle who shared stated thoughts about how he did during the game, “I thought overall I played pretty good…” Jackson also explained how he got hurt during the game, “I don’t remember what play it was but I was down blocking and this backer came helmet straight through the hip.” So many people get hurt during football games but at luckily for Jackson it was a temporary injury. He also shared “I thought they were a pretty tough team…we lost our chances and they gained their chances. There could have been a better outcome.” Junior Carter Hayward, a running back who shared his personal feelings about the game. Hayward said “I think it was alright, Durango is a really good team…We worked really hard and put our best effort out there.” Hayward also shares the best play for himself, he said “personally for me I think it was my longest field goal.”
Hopefully the Bulldogs pick themselves up after this tough loss and take the win this Friday, September 26th at 7:00 PM vs Central at Stocker Stadium.
