Pass, set, spike. Volleyball is a sport that will always keep you on your toes. The Palisade Bulldogs hosted their first Freshman and JV volleyball tournament of the year! The team includes some returners and some players who have never played for the Bulldogs before. Starting with Palisade student and volleyball returner Audrie Cole Sophmore, who shared her feelings about the tournament. Cole said, “I’m really excited for it … I’m excited to get to know my team better.” For her first volleyball tournament of the year, it’s always good to be excited with a team you’re getting to know more.
After interviewing Kailey Riskey a New Junior at Palisade, who shared her feelings about the tournament, she said, “I’m excited, I think it’s a good kick-off point of the season.” Riskey also shared how she is playing with a team of girls she has never played with before. “I’m a little nervous just because I’ve never played with these girls.” This is Riskey’s first game with the Bulldogs, and she is curious to see how it will turn out. Riskey also states what makes her confident about the tournament “We’ve done a lot of conditioning and exercising, I’m confident that we will not get winded.” It is very beneficial for volleyball players to do a lot of conditioning.
Zophia Quinoa Sophmore, who shared one of the game’s scores she stated, “Our first game against Fruita, second set we won the game 25-10.” The team left the tournament with both the Freshman and JV teams undefeated. WOW! The dedication of our freshman and JV volleyball teams really shows what it means to be loud and proud Bulldogs, putting in the hustle and work to demonstrate what team spirit is all about!
