Reversal, pin, nearfall, takedown! These were some of the last words the boys wrestling seniors will hear during their final high school season.
On January twenty-ninth, the Bulldog boys had their annual senior night, one of their final goodbyes on the mat. The night was full of fun wrestling matches and sentimental reminisces of the time these athletes dedicated to the sport. The seniors honored that night included Star Tuatua’a, Judah Steele, Jeremiah Woolery, and Hayden Moreland. Each senior had their own experiences on the mat, and each will forever treasure the memories.
Judah Steele, who has been wrestling since his freshman year, was ecstatic to give his thoughts on the wrestling season. “My favorite part about this wrestling season was watching the younger wrestlers grow, they did really well.” Steele exclaimed how he’s going to miss this season, as it was a memorable one. “Senior night was good, I got a poster from it.” The night was even more special for Steele because his brother, Titus Steele, wrestled and graduated last year. “It felt like a connection because a year ago Titus was in this position, and now here I am.” Steele even wore a dress for the night, exactly how his brother did a year ago. Currently, Steele plans to wrestle a year in college. Afterwards, he will be joining the military to serve our country.
With the season wrapping up, our senior Bulldog wrestlers are also wrapping up their high school careers. These boys deserve the applause for all the work, grit, and dedication they put into wrestling each day. Congratulations Star Tuatua’a, Judah Steele, Jeremiah Woolery, and Hayden Moreland!
