Settling into the second semester might be tough for some Palisade Bulldogs, but don’t fear, Winter Formal is here! Taking breaks from stressful school work is important to stay positive and full of school spirit. Fun events like Winter Formal will undoubtedly shake these winter blues.
Night in Narnia is this year’s theme, encapsulating the fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia. The Bulldog, The Witch, and the Wardrobe will all appear at Lincoln Park Barn on February 1st from 7-10 p.m. Starting January 27th till the 31st, Palisade’s StuCo will sell tickets during lunch for Night in Narnia. For pre-sale, single tickets are $15 and couples tickets are $25. At the door, they will be $20.
StuCo utilizes physical and technological advertisement methods to gain traction and get the word out to the entire school. Posters carefully and mindfully created by StuCo are hung up throughout the hallways. @phsspirit on Instagram contains all information needed about Night in Narnia, including dress codes, prices, and times.
Opportunities to donate dresses and formal attire are presented to the students to support those who may not have the ability to acquire an outfit for the dance. Donation boxes are outside StuCo advisor Mr. Smith’s room 148B and in second base at the end of Dog Run. Acceptable items include dresses, dress shirts, ties, and tuxedo donations. They cannot be stained, ripped, or have broken zippers. Dresses are available to everyone, but stay courteous and only take what you need. Returns are not necessary, but are accepted. This event will be completely anonymous.
Sophomore Beckett Carlton is the committee head for this year’s Winter Formal. Carlton is in charge of organizing the details and finalized plans of Night in Narnia. He is in charge of, “The big logistics of it, like decorations, how we are decorating.” Carlton explains,“Food trucks were a big issue because they cancelled on us at the last minute. So, we had to find replacements.”
Carlton and Palisade StuCo are working so incredibly hard to create a fun, unforgettable night for every Bulldog. Make sure to buy your tickets this week and donate to the dress drive.
