Lucas Regnell, the new band teacher, has more talents than you think. He played a number of instruments such as the flute, piccolo and a number of more. He spent about 3 years in college doing stem before he ever thought about switching. As he said “I was gonna go major in stem till I felt like I was being held back. I just wasn’t having fun or enjoying it and the only thing I enjoyed was music. In my 3rd year I switched majors.”Mr Regnell explains how he could rely on music and how music had a huge impact on him “ I had a band director that helped and mentored me with life”. Did he always see himself as a band teacher? His answer was no. “ I could see myself being a teacher yes but band teacher, i could have never imagined”. Mr regnell states“I want to help them thrive and I wanted to put us all on the same page so we could work together. While state would be amazing it would be a plus. Helping these kids like my teacher helped me. Seeing how happy music makes some of these kids is the best win I could get”. Mr Regnell is a great band teacher. I bet we all can’t wait to see where he leads us. We hope for many more years with mr regnell.
