WarDogs End the Season With Fire
The girls tennis team has had an outstanding season ending it with senior night, as well as a 9-2 record. Central High School’s principal, Lanc Sellden, had stated that in his 24 years of being at CHS, he can’t remember the WarDogs having a season as good as this one.
On Tuesday the 25th, the WarDogs had their last match before regionals against Delta and ended it with a sweep, 7-0. These girls have put in a great amount of work to get to this point. They also celebrated their seniors on the team, which include Lenah Anderson and Claire Dziwisz who both attend CHS, and Kodie Smith who attends PHS. Lenah and Claire have been on the team since freshman year, and Kodie has been on the team starting her senior year. They are all varsity this year. “What I am definitely going to miss the most is my teammates and coaches. They have been some of the most amazing people I have met my whole life and they are some of the best encouragers,” said Kodie Smith. During the lineup, the seniors were recognized and were handed gifts by Coach Aust. These seniors are going to be missed by the whole team.
The varsity WarDogs are now getting ready for regionals which take place next Thursday and Friday. Coach Aust hopes to send all double lines to state. Lookin back in the season, there has been great success and improvement. There is great hope to qualify most of the team to state. Wish them luck as they prepare for next week!
