On October 18th, Palisade High School held their annual blood drive. Having multiple participants the drive went from 9 AM to around 3:15 the end of the school day. The student blood drives help people in need, saving many lives. As sophomore Beckett Carlton stated “the blood all gets donated to hospitals.” Carlton is a stuco member here for palisade. Blood is needed almost every two seconds by people in hospitals, the reason being people of all ages that have been burn victims, heart surgery and or organ transplant the people battling cancer are in need of the blood. Blood is one of the biggest ways someone can help another in need and it doesn’t cost a cent. Winter and summer are the two most vital and worst times for people in need of blood because winter and summer are the times hospitals start to run short on blood. The blood drive was a huge success this year with multiple people in and out all day. The blood drive lasted a lot longer than the scheduled time due to how many people signed up for it. This year would be Carlton’s first year donating blood for Palisade like many, the reason being because you have to be 16 and older to donate blood for multiple health concerns. Carlton also claims “This has been going on for at least four years now helping the community.” Palisade High will most likely have another one this spring. Be sure to donate BULLDOGS!!

Yo, I’m Dallas. This is my first year writing for Palisade. I enjoy bull riding, writing and math. When I'm not writing or riding, you can find me watching football or baseball games. I'm excited to start sending out stories for Palisade and let everyone know more about the school. I hope soon enough to start photography for the papers. I can't wait to start writing for you all!
