When something begins, there is always an end. Palisade’s Senior volleyball night was this Tuesday with a game against Grand Junction. Along with dominating Junction throughout the entire night, the seven seniors were honored for everything they have brought to the volleyball team over the years. The seven seniors included Sabrina Landman, Kyra Birch, Sarah Foster, Delaney Brinkley, Grace McAnany, Addie Ritterbush, and Braeleigh MacAskill. It was a great night full of reminiscing memories and thanking the girls for all their hard work and dedication towards the team. Each senior also shared gratitude towards their parents who constantly supported them. The night was memorable with the student section full, the cheerleaders loud and proud, and the game a success. Without a doubt, the girls swept the floor against Junction, mapping their way to regionals. “The plan is regionals. We have a few more games left in our regular season but right now we are set up to host. If we keep working hard hopefully we will be playing State,” says senior Sabrina Landman, who has been a part of the volleyball varsity team for the last three years and is a pin hitter. “Senior night was exhilarating,” Landman reminisces, “I think it was bittersweet to kind of live in the moment because this is a moment we have been looking forward to and have seen others do for four years. For it to finally be us was sad, but it was more celebratory of all the success our program has seen this year and the past four years.” At the end of the night, each senior participated in the Palisade Volleyball Tradition where they tie a ribbon on the net, symbolizing each of them as an individual and the unique special gifts they brought to the volleyball program. Congratulations to these ladies and thank you for everything you have brought to Palisade volleyball. Their last and final home game is tonight at Palisade High School so be sure to watch these talented girls for the last time!
