Bands of America
With one final competition, the marching band season has reached an end in Saint George, Utah. Last Saturday, November 5, our marching band competed at Bands of America to close their season, placing fourth in their class. Bands came from five different states to compete, ranging from 200 kids to a band of our size, around 85. This is different compared to state, where we are only competing against 3A bands. Jacob Mason, a senior trombonist, played a solo at this competition. When asked about the band’s performance, he stated, “Our performance was pretty good, definitely not as good as state, but it was still pretty solid.” Our marching band Dogs woke up at 4:00 AM to be ready and prepared for their 7:45 AM performance in the cold. “Our strength was definitely our work ethic, as we have been working really hard. Our weakness was probably the beginning of our season. It was not as strong as it could have been, so we need to be working harder then, rather than starting our hard work later in the season.” Jacob believes. Great job this season marching band, and we can’t wait for the next one. Go Bulldogs!
