Palisade competes for match

This past week the Palisade High School Boys Wrestling team faced both North Fork and Delta high school. Last Thursday the boys met face-to-face with the North Fork varsity boys. We battled and fought our hardest, but the opposing team came out on top. Freshman Jace Woollery stepped up and wrestled in a different weight class than he is used to. Jace said, “I feel like I could have done better than I did.” Jace started wrestling at a very young age but due to his mother’s cancer, he stopped wrestling till his 8th-grade year. The Palisade bulldogs learned from their mistakes against North Fork and brought their A game on Saturday morning when wrestling the Delta Panthers. The boy bulldogs ended up winning the dual as a team. The Palisade Boys wrestling team has bonded together to help each other win and be better than they were the day before. Jace commented on the bonds he has built so far “Lane is someone I have looked up to this year because he always helps me and works with me at practice. He is definitely my favorite workout partner.” Junior Lane Holland had a great match against Delta. He came through pinning his opponent in the first period. “I feel like I did pretty good. I made a few mistakes here and there but with hard work in practice I should be able to pull it together pretty good.” When asked about his team Lane replied “this year I definitely see more effort and hard work during practice and more attention is shown to what we are learning.” Continue to support the Bulldog wrestlers as they near the end of their season.
