St. Mary’s Nurse Accused of Sexual Assault on Duty

On October 25, 2022, an intensive care unit at St. Mary’s hospital was arrested on account of sexual assault allegations. 61-year-old ICU nurse, Christopher Lambros, was fired by the hospital, after being arrested by the Grand Junction police department. St. Mary’s released a statement on the case, stating “What this former nurse is accused of is reprehensible and goes against everything we believe and value at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Patients put their trust in us and should feel safe in our care. We are working closely with law enforcement to protect our patients from those who intend to cause harm. We are doing everything possible to ensure our patients continue to feel safe and respected while receiving care at St. Mary’s Medical Center.” Colleagues of Lambros reported witnessing the nurse take revealing photographs of patients who were unable to consent. After receiving a search warrant for Lambros’ phone, the police department was able to find evidence of the former nurse’s allegations, as well as other assaults on patients. Lambros is currently being held in Mesa County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
