Over their spring break, our Palisade Baseball Bulldogs traveled all the way to Scottsdale, Arizona to compete against three other teams in their three-day tournament. From March 23-25th, our team battled Moorpark, Chandler, and La Cueva. Though the team fought their hardest, they, unfortunately, did not pull through to win any of these games. “The tournament was pretty rough. All of the teams we were up against were really good.” Says Hunter Howard, a freshman varsity athlete. Howard just finished up his first basketball season here at Palisade, playing varsity for his entire season, and is now onto his next sport Baseball. Howard has been playing since he was three or four years old, first playing on the Palisade Little League team, then with the CMU Mavs, the Trojans, and finally the Palisade Bulldogs. “The tournament was a rough one. It was a good experience for the team, but I think we definitely have a lot to work on to improve our playing for the season.” Howard states. “I think we definitely have to improve on our offense. I’d say we struggled with hitting a lot this tournament. I think we should also probably improve our pitcher’s hitting locations.” As Palisade Bulldogs, it’s incredibly important for our athletes to learn from their losses, and be able to pick out what aspects of their playing need improvement for their next game. With a good goal for the next game, our Bulldogs should be able to take their next game to victory. Make sure to support our Palisade boys Baseball team at their next game, Saturday, April first. Go Bulldogs!
