Full Swing into Fall!

The rush, warmth, and exciting festivities of summer are still lingering. However, a transition of coziness and chunky sweaters is occurring. Fall is the perfect time to feast, discover new entertainment, and engage in fun traditions.

Every step you take, there is a yellow, red, or orange leaf crunching beneath your foot. Every cafe you enter, timeless autumnal classics such as ‘Kiss Me’ play. Celebrating fall in Western Colorado will make you feel as if you entered a magical storybook. Studt’s Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze is a common tradition for residents of Grand Junction, Palisade, and Fruita. Maria Luna, a sophomore, went to Studt’s over fall break. “My sisters and I always try to go to the pumpkin patch every year. It was really fun this year. We did the corn maze and we actually made it out.” The gatherings during fall provide more opportunities to make memories. Carving and painting pumpkins with your loved ones can make for a mess, but also a lifetime supply of laughter. Halloween is a holiday that most kids look forward to. The spooky decorations, creative costumes, and buckets of candy is sure to be a youthful favorite. Luna adds, “I always do matching Halloween costumes with my friends.” Seasonal foods help capture the fuzzy feelings swirling in the fall atmosphere. “I am excited for all the good foods and drinks that come with fall, like apple cider and pumpkin pie,” Luna exclaims. Palisade’s very own Talbott Farms crafts many products. One of their best is the apple cider. Starbucks’ drink menu is expanded due to all the adored flavors, such as a cult classic, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Whether you’re hiking along a local trail, observing the changing leaves or enjoying a warm cinnamon roll from Main Street Bagels, fall will embrace you with a comforting hug and wool scarf.
