Palisade Junior, Nathan Umberger, is the male Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade DinoMart. Umberger plays football, basketball, and track. “I play wide receiver and corner. I have been playing football for 8 years now. I’ve always had a dream of playing college football and I love the game,” says Umberger, who has played varsity since his sophomore year. He says he loves playing football and loves his team. “I bring energy and good skills to the team. My favorite thing is being around my second family, the team is my favorite part of the game”.
Umberger says his dad is his biggest inspiration. Umberger still does things like spending time with friends and drag racing, which is an activity he enjoys. His advice to people starting or playing any sport is “ask questions, get in as much as you can, watch film, and stay healthy”.
After moving up to varsity, he still has a lot of games to look forward to, and a lot of time to spend with the team. His hard work and skill will help him and his team to more victories to come, and he will always have fun playing the game. Congratulations Nathan on receiving Athlete of the Week!
