This week’s Female Athlete of the Week, sophomore Ashley Guerra provided to you by Palisade Dino Mart. She was chosen because of her talent in cheerleading. When asked why she thought she deserved to get Athlete of the Week, Guerra responded with, “I think that it is because of my dedication, I try to practice a lot even outside of school.” Cheerleading is a difficult sport and definitely has its ups and downs, Guerra seems to make the most out of her passion for cheerleading. When it comes to sports and physical activity, practice and dedication is important because that’s the only way you get better. Guerra takes that seriously and makes sure to put in the effort so that she performs amazingly when it comes time.
Guerra is a great representation of the Palisade High School cheer team as a whole because of her hard work and dedication. Her interest and passion for cheerleading should inspire others to follow what they love doing. Guerra also says, “I try to be there for my team and just show up in general which is important.” Being a good teammate is a huge aspect in any sport or activity. Not only that but showing up as much as you can shows that you are dedicated and willing to show up for your team.
