Before the highly anticipated homecoming dance, high school students come together to decorate the hallways to celebrate their respective class themes. The seniors, representing summer, immerse themselves in a sea of vibrant colors and beachy vibes. They transform the hallways into a tropical paradise with lemonade stands made out of cardboard, balloons hanging at the entrance, and inflatable props propped against the walls. The air is filled with excitement as they create a warm and inviting atmosphere that transports everyone to a sunny getaway.
The Juniors garden brings spring to life and vibrancy into their section of the hallway. Flowers bloom everywhere one looks, with garlands draped across doorframes and the ceilings and lights adorned with the color green to represent the welcoming feeling of spring. Juniors were also the class that had won the hall decorating. Juniors put in a tireless effort to create a hallway that embodies the freshness and renewal of spring, leaving everyone feeling uplifted and ready to celebrate.
Sophomores embrace the spirit of fall as they embark on decorating their designated hallway space. Leaves in shades of red, orange, and yellow cascade down from above while the color yellow beams out at every corner. Freshman yearning for winter take charge of their class theme by turning the hallways into a magical wonderland. The hall lights are turned blue while white tapestries resembling snowflakes adorn the walls. The freshman class worked diligently to create an ambiance that mirrors a snowy escape, evoking feelings of awe and anticipation for the upcoming festivities.
In an interview with Brooklyn Thiel, a junior here at Palisade she stated, “I think hall decorating is extremely fun because it brings everyone closer like as a grade because it’s not for one group of people anybody can do it and it lets people be creative in and around the theme while also making something really beautiful. I think the junior hall showed what spring was. I love hall decorating I’ve done it every single year that I’ve been at Palisade High School and it’s gotten better and better every single year with new designs and new creativity”
In the days leading up to homecoming, each class’s hallways become a sight to behold. The creativity and dedication displayed by students from all grades inspire a sense of unity and pride within the school community. These beautifully decorated halls serve as a reminder of the unique traditions and shared experiences that make high school memorable for every student.
