Choir Heads to Rifle After Previous Victories
In late January Palisade’s Chamber of Popular Acclaim traveled to Colorado Springs for CMEA, the Colorado Music Educator Association, as they were invited after last year’s performance. The previous year’s choirs auditioned for the opportunity and the next year’s choirs got in. Palisade got to be able to go sing this year and had an amazing performance. Siena Miller, a freshman at Palisade and member of the Popular Acclaim said, “It was a really fun experience even though we spent 20 hours on a bus. Even Mr. Bollinger got to come and watch us perform and he presented us with this plaque.”
This week the Chamber of Popular Acclaim choir is traveling to Rifle for CHSAA to sing 4 songs and work on sight reading while being scored. Siena also said, “I think it’s going to be good. We’ve been practicing for a few of our chamber songs for this week for a long time and we just started with our jazz and show set, but it’s coming along quickly and it’s sounding great. Popular Acclaim is definitely always the best part of my day. It’s always so much fun, everyone in there is very nice and supportive. Being a freshman and going into a group that’s mostly upperclassmen I feel really lucky to be in it because I think it’s pretty rare and to have that opportunity to be able to learn and grow as a singer while I’m only a freshman is very special.”
We wish the choir luck as they travel to Rifle, and congratulate them for their past victories!
