This week there have been some exciting new things in the counselor’s office along with gossip, new changes and much more that will be discussed in this week’s counselor’s corner story.
Starting off with all the new students that have come into Palisade recently since the start of the school year, just this week there are at least five students that have come to join the Palisade family. This week has also been a big week for the Freshman in the counselor’s office because counselors are going into Freshman classes teaching and talking to them about mental health fitness. Mental health fitness is a way to to teach teens how to deal with their emotions and mental health in ways that are not harmful; according to Miss Cameron they also discuss different types of mental health she says, “Most might think of emotions or mental illness but it is so much more than that, and it’s important to share that with teens.”
A lot of the counselors have been working on transcripts with Seniors and moving around schedules lately according to counselor Renee Cameron, “This week has been working with Seniors to make sure everything is set for the year to graduate and caught up.” Speaking of graduation, the counselors’ secretaries are already working on diplomas for graduation in May at the end of the year for early graduates and Seniors. And the last thing that has been going for the councilors this week is they are getting ready to show Sophomores an academic career presentation to help them find different career choices.
Many exciting things have happened in the counselors office this week and it will only get more busy from here, thank you to all our counselors that work so hard for all the Palisade students!
