The anticipation of Palisade’s Homecoming dance comes to an end, hitting off from 7:00 PM to 10:00pm on October 4th. Students were nervous and excited about the dance, Freshmen unsure how their first Homecoming would go, and older classmates anticipating if it would be better or worse than the years before. With or without dates, the students of Palisade High School hit it off, with popular songs that most everyone knew and sang along to, and slow dances that couples at the dance could slow it down and dance too to take a break from the rowdy and energetic music that hit off the whole dance in the first place.
In the middle of the Aux gym where the dance was hosted Student Council made a main area where the mosh pit and many students gathered with there friends to have fun and let go of all thoughts on school work and any activities that have been a heavy weight on students shoulders could let go and have fun with their friends.
In the Aux gym the lights and decorations by Student Council made an aroma that matched the Homecoming theme ,Circus, with a photo booth that friends could take pictures at and couples could do the same creating memories that will last a lifetime for them, living in the moment and enjoying their time at high school and all the events while they can. When asking Freshman Ziva Howell how her first Homecoming dance went on the night she states, “It was exciting, it was very ecstatic in the best way possible. I feel like everyone had a lot of fun.” Howell and many Freshmen had similar experiences and a great time at their first Homecoming dance at Palisade. Dylan McNally, a Senior at PHS also in Student Council had her own opinions on the dance since it was her last HOCO dance of her Highschool career. “I think it went pretty good. Overall I think there was good attendance. Though I think we needed more lights in the gym.” When I asked McNally if it lived up to her expectations for her last Homecoming she goes on to say, “I think it did. All the events we had over the week were really good and the dance itself was really fun.” Overall, Homecoming night this year was a blast for all grades. With new experiences and memories that these students will hold for their entire lives, now Student Council and the school will await all the other events coming up in the near future at Palisade High School.
