The most prized possession for a single class in Palisade High School, the spirit bone, was won last week during homecoming. The class of 2026 came very close to winning the spirit bone last year, and Senior Ian Shiao states, “It was pretty frustrating last year because we lost the spirit days…It honestly surprised me throughout the whole week too, because I thought that we were going to lose the spirit days, but I’m glad we didn’t.” The Senior class spirit has flourished this year. Most of the class of 2026 participated heavily in all things school spirit, seeing so many players for Ruff N’ Tuff and Powder Puff, as well as so many Seniors dressed out for the days. Shiao goes on to explain that because his class is now Seniors, they have a much closer community to show their spirit. “I think that, because of Senior year, we all have a lot more camaraderie and we communicate with each other a lot more. That’s really why we won,” Shiao states. At Palisade High School, we value our relationships and being a close-knit pack as that is the true meaning of our school spirit. Because our school’s current Senior class has demonstrated it’s spirit so thoroughly, they won the spirit bone this year. Shiao states, “It felt very, very good…Having everybody lock in, it was really cool to see.” Shiao is also currently a member of our school’s Student Council committee and participates in many school activities, so he has his eyes everywhere. Having someone so dedicated to the school be proud of the spirit coming from the students means a lot. For the years to come, many more Bulldogs will walk through the halls and be a part of the school, hopefully, they will perform the same amount of school spirit as the class of 2026.

Ava Herrera, Staff Writer
Hey, I’m Ava Herrera and I am a Junior here at Palisade High School. This is my first year in Paw Post and I am currently a Staff Writer. Outside of school I enjoy shopping, reading, dirt biking and spending time with my family. I love spending time with my three little brothers and I am very devoted to them and my school work. I hope to complete and pass eight AP classes by the end of my senior year. I also recently started getting more into car mechanics and enjoy the process of taking a car apart to fix it and put it back together (after learning about fashion, of course). I am so excited to be a part of the Staff this year! Peace out, Dogs!

Mallory Brownell, Editor In Chief
Hey there! My name is Mallory and I am the Editor In Chief with my best friend Gaby. I am a Senior this year and in my final year of the International Baccalaureate programme. I have been a member of the Palisade Paw Post for all four year of my high school career. I have served as a Staff Writer, the Sports Editor, as well as the Social Media Coordinator and I am beyond ecstatic for our big plans for this year. The Paw Post is and has been my home, family, and favorite part of my day. Outside of school, I enjoy playing pickleball every night I can, spending time with my friends, and listening to music. I am also the Girls Golf Team Capitan as well as a member of our D.O.G.S. executive council. I am so excited for my last and best year of the Paw Post. Go Bulldogs!
