PHS Seniors During HOCO Assembly Dressed for Wacky Wednesday 10/01/2025
The most prized possession for a single class in Palisade High School, the spirit bone, was won last week during homecoming. The class of 2026 came very close to winning the spirit bone last year, and Senior Ian Shiao states, “It was pretty frustrating last year because we lost the spirit days…It honestly surprised me throughout the whole week too, because I thought that we were going to lose the spirit days, but I’m glad we didn’t.” The Senior class spirit has flourished this year. Most of the class of 2026 participated heavily in all things school spirit, seeing so many players for Ruff N’ Tuff and Powder Puff, as well as so many Seniors dressed out for the days. Shiao goes on to explain that because his class is now Seniors, they have a much closer community to show their spirit. “I think that, because of Senior year, we all have a lot more camaraderie and we communicate with each other a lot more. That’s really why we won,” Shiao states. At Palisade High School, we value our relationships and being a close-knit pack as that is the true meaning of our school spirit. Because our school’s current Senior class has demonstrated it’s spirit so thoroughly, they won the spirit bone this year. Shiao states, “It felt very, very good…Having everybody lock in, it was really cool to see.” Shiao is also currently a member of our school’s Student Council committee and participates in many school activities, so he has his eyes everywhere. Having someone so dedicated to the school be proud of the spirit coming from the students means a lot. For the years to come, many more Bulldogs will walk through the halls and be a part of the school, hopefully, they will perform the same amount of school spirit as the class of 2026.
