The Palisade Paw Post is excited to announce this year’s first Student of the Week Award, which goes to Junior Emily Sparks. Sparks is a hard worker and determined student to make sure she is successful in every class she’s in. Nominated by Coach D, he shares why out of everyone in the school he chose Sparks for Student of the Week, stating “ She was top student in her class in the police academy class that they do here,” D, then followed up on how she stood out amongst other students because Sparks is“Always on point about everything and asks a lot of questions,” this exemplifies that Sparks is an exemplary student and was the best choice for this week. Sparks states “My motivation is to get through school and be something and have a purpose”. Sparks shows her desire to finish school and intends to become a Department of Wildlife Officer after she graduates. Sparks states “After school I want to be a DOW officer, I love nature and being someone that people see as good”. This demonstrates the leadership qualities that Sparks has and wishes to attain to be seen as a role model and show her love for nature. When asked, Sparks defines success as “Achieving your goals and being proud of it”. With her love of nature and determination to be the best version of herself, and with a strong sense of humanity, Sparks has a strong future ahead of her and we can’t wait to see what she will achieve next!
