Palisade Sophomore, Adyn Cassity, is the Male Athlete of the Week brought to you by Palisade Dino Mart. A dedicated two-sport athlete, Cassity competes in both football and lacrosse. On the lacrosse field, Cassity plays midfield for the Grand Junction Boys Varsity Lacrosse team. He has been a key contributor since his freshman year, earning a starting spot on varsity both years. Cassity has been playing lacrosse for a decade, first picking up a stick at just six years old. Inspired by a cousin who introduced him to the sport, Cassity quickly developed a passion for the game that has only grown stronger with time.
Driven by his profound love for lacrosse and his commitment to growth, Cassity is determined to take his athletic career to new heights after high school. “I would love to take my talent in lacrosse to the next level, hopefully competing at the Division 1 level,” says Cassity. His pursuit of improvement has led him to achieve remarkable milestones. “I have accomplished a lot with my sport, but I believe my biggest accomplishment so far is making it onto my national team and having the ability to travel to awesome places for my sport.”
The club team that Cassity plays for, 3D Colorado Lacrosse, has been a major highlight in his lacrosse journey, providing him with invaluable experiences. Cassity expounds on this, stating, “My favorite thing about lacrosse is when I play club and get to travel to the east coast and experience new parts of the country,” says Cassity. 3D Colorado Lacrosse is out of Denver Colorado, where Cassity travels every weekend for practice. Cassity travels with his team to big tournaments all around the country, such as Crabfeast, Naptown (located in Maryland) and the biggest one, NLF ( located in Florida ). 3D Colorado Lacrosse has given Cassity great opportunities to compete at high levels, further fueling his drive to improve and reach the collegiate level.
Learning a sport like lacrosse comes with its challenges, just like any other sport. For Cassity, having strong role models has made a lasting impact on his growth both on and off the field. “My biggest inspiration Is Aj Switzer. Since I was in fifth grade he has trained me and has helped me get to where I am today, not only as a great lacrosse player, but as a great person.”
With a deep-rooted passion for the sport, Cassity continues to prove himself as a standout athlete. His dedication goes unnoticed, bringing that fire and energy to the game. Congratulations, Adyn Cassity, for receiving Athlete of the Week!
