With a great school comes great leaders. Beckett Carlton is one of these leaders, chosen to represent the Student Council as next year’s Historian.
Carlton, a sophomore, has been involved with StuCo since his freshman year. After all the time dedicated to the school and students, Carlton decided it was time to step up even more and contribute as much as he could. Running unopposed, Carlton automatically has been elected as the SBA (Student Body Association) Historian. Within this position, Carlton will document all of the StuCo meetings, events, and other activities so future council’s can learn from them. “My biggest plan is to work on the organization and professionalism inside Student Council,” Carlton exclaims, “which in turn will create a stronger foundation to connect the students between clubs which will form a community in which our actions transcend.”
This year, Carlton was sophomore class president. He was who the sophomore class would look up to when it came to important class decisions. He is very excited to see where StuCo will take him as SBA historian.
When asked what he loves about StuCo, Carlton said: “I enjoy having a strong voice and advocating for more innovative and overall positive outcomes for events regarding the student body. I think oftentimes the work within StuCo isn’t everyone’s 100% effort, and I like pushing others to their limit.” Congratulations Beckett Carlton on being elected as next year’s StuCo historian, we can’t wait to see the great things you will bring to Palisade next year!
