Palisade Bulldogs pin for the win at Central High School on January 22nd against the Central Warriors. Palisade Varsity Boys wrestling team led a victorious duel as they overcame the obstacles that came at them and triumphed in the end. The Bulldogs have been working hard all season and it is evident that all of it is paying off. The determination, passion, and love for the sport is what drives them forward every time they get onto the mat, proving their grit and hard work ethic.
The Palisade wrestling team is strengthened by their unbreakable bond with each other. Having a family within the sport is something that the players truly value, and something that they will cherish forever. Junior Tobyn Trottier states, “My favorite part about wrestling would have to be the brotherhood and seeing everyone achieve their goals throughout the season.” Trottier has been wrestling ever since he was five years old and wrestles in the heavyweight class. “I think that we push each other and lift each other up and encourage each other to fight on the mat with passion”. The Bulldogs have been overcoming this season’s challenges and have been taking the bull by the horns. Sophomore Kadin Mulford states, “My favorite part about wrestling would have to be the grind, and getting through the tough challenges and overcoming it all”. Mulford has been wrestling all of his life and is in the 132 weight class. “Right now as a team we’re doing very well and have been coming together. I think that we have a very good chance at a state title in a couple of years”. The Wrestlers keep their eyes on the prize and give it their all to win every time they get onto the mat. “My favorite part about wrestling would have to be winning,” states Sophomore Hunter Shipp. This is Shipp’s second year wrestling for Palisade and wrestles in the 215 weight class. “We push each other in each practice and I think that we have gotten much better since last year”. The Boys wrestling team has been working hard all season to get the best results that they can whenever a challenge comes their way on the mat or through life. With each match, win or loss, they always learn from it, using each lesson to their advantage. Keep up the good work Bulldogs and continue to do what makes Palisade High School proud. Great Job Bulldogs!
