As the feelings set in, all of the memories start flooding in. Being in your last year of high school is a special feeling, working with your friends, doing sports with your teammates, and completing the final stage into adult life. The seniors at Palisade are working together and making the rest of their stay the best one yet. Many student-athletes work their hardest to stay in a sport and be able to fulfill their dreams and expectations of their future self. Senior Gio Rodriguez feels excited for upcoming opportunities. “I really want to expand my construction business, and focus on my side hustle making a clothing brand,” Rodriguez states.
As one matures and grows in life, realizations of the past are brought up. Sharing memories and getting to the goals you have set for yourself. Rodriguez works very hard in making the most of what he has. “I’ve had a lot of fun in high school. My friends and the memories I have made are really good.”
Senior Ronaldo Cordova has a passion for soccer here at Palisade and loves to grind his way to the top. “After my surgery my Freshman year, I had a lot of ups and downs. Being influenced by my teammates pushed me to love the sport and put the opportunity into perspective,” Cordova explains. The love for a sport and the feeling of accomplishment throughout hard times will always make a positive impact. “Involving yourself in a high school sport helps any kind of academic learning and the community surrounding the sport is like having a second family and brothers. Everything provides a foundation for being a leader,” admits Cordova.
As traditions and people go through life, they cherish the moments that they have had. For this year we will miss our Bulldog seniors and the memories that connect with them.
The Bulldogs were victorious against Fruita Monument High School on October 9th, 2-1. Sophomore Cy Hobbs scored both goals. This was a special and important W for Palisade considering it was Senior Night and one of the last games of the season. Way to go Bulldogs! The next home game is October 22nd against the Grand Junction Tigers, you won’t want to miss it.
