On October 1st 2024 Iran, a country that has been at war with Israel for over thirty years, launched just about 180 missiles at Israel. The Israeli military states that there were no casualties. A US National Security Advisor states on Tuesday “American Navy destroyers joined Israel in shooting down incoming missiles.” The last time Iran launched any missiles at Israel was in April 2024 after they launched a salvo of ballistic missiles at Israel but with very little damage. Hagri, the Israeli spokesperson, stated that Israel did many very small raids in Lebanon. As of October 10th 2024 at least nine people have been confirmed deceased because of the Israeli military’s biggest and deepest attack into Lebanon. An Israeli army officer was also confirmed deceased on the South of Lebanon captain Ben Zion Falach a 21 year old Israeli man passed away with 8 other Israelis leading to the attack on Lebanon.
Mr. Kennedy is a world history teacher here at Palisade. He has been teaching at Palisade high school for many years. He commented on the situation, “This affects economics and frankly how I look at the world.” He also stated “This makes the world really unstable as all wars do but it also makes the risk of a larger war.” Mr. Kennedy also commented on last year’s October 7th, 2023 attack which is the worst attack against the Jews since the Holocaust. “ Israel could make a lot with this attack as they lose a few lives and very little land they could gain more than they will lose.”
