Palisade Bulldogs took on the Durango Demons this past Saturday, September 20th. Palisade scored 14-32. This is the Palisade football team’s fourth time on the road this season, Sophomore Aidan Shiao states his process for developing new game plans, “Really just like prepping all throughout the weekend and all the time we get to spend in the film room and go out there and just do our thing it’s all apart of preparation.” The football team has to make sure they always get enough practice in order to have a great play off and as well as having time to prepare, keeping each other accountable and making sure the team is focused while playing. It helps the team stay in touch with the ball and not give up.
The Palisade Bulldogs want to keep up the great games. Shiao’s goals include, “To eventually make the playoffs as a team and create a brother out there, and the ultimate goal is to win state.” Football is a competitive sport so having goals such as winning and counting on each other guys needed the most is great. Putting your thoughts together before games can be pretty nerve racking. Shiao says, “I was pretty nervous but also excited because I knew my opportunity was coming which was awesome. I think it was a great experience.”
Playing against bigger teams can always be very different but there’s always great opportunities for everyone. Defense and offense expectations are always higher than expected. “There is definitely more room for improvement because we lost and didn’t play great but I know what we tried, and we’re going to come back and play better,” concludes Shiao. Palisade Bulldogs, let’s finish this season off with great plays!
