Dressing up, going out to eat, and dancing the night away. These are all the star-studding qualities of what Palisade’s annual school prom has to offer. The dance, presented by STUCO, was a success full of glamour, fun, and memories. Although there were mixed reviews from the student body because of the abrupt location change, this didn’t stop students from having fun. Due to conditions and weather, the dance had to be changed hours before the dance, but still ended in success. Food was also offered outside in the rain during the dance so students could get refreshments and take a break from all the fun they were having.
To gain a better understanding of student views, we conducted interviews with PHS students. One student, Jayden Aragon, expressed mixed reviews with the event, stating that the music, venue, and overall experience were all subpar. Other students, like Julian Garza, were more forgiving. Garza stated that “the prom was enjoyable overall, but that the music could have been better.” Julian suggested that students should have been involved in selecting the music for the event, which is a recommendation for next year’s prom.
Following this year’s successful prom, 2025 Prom is set to be even better. Thank you Student Council for presenting this dance, the students appreciated it!
