In a festive hope to bring families together and celebrate the holidays with live music, Palisade’s band department showcased their talents with classic Christmas tunes. The concert occurred this Monday on the 18th. All the band classes performed from the department included jazz, symphonic, and marching band. They played various Christmas tunes including The Nutcracker, Winter Scenes and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. Overall, the concert was a success and a festive way to end the hard work all the bands put together this first semester. “It was rewarding to see all the hard work we put in these past few months be performed perfectly,” said sophomore Katelyn Spalding, a saxophonist and section leader. The audience only saw the full performance prior to the months of hard work and dedication these musicians put into this concert. Between September all the way to the end of this semester, practices involved these Christmas tunes. The performance lasted only 45 minutes and was a great start to finals week for Palisade students. Sophomore Maya McCall even performed a solo on the saxophone, closing the performance with holly jolly notes of sound.
