Palisade’s boys soccer drops 4th loss of the season with a tough game on home turf. The game was highlighted by Alassandro Olivieri’s first goal of the season and a PK taken by Isaac Dady. The game ended with a score of 2-4.
The game was last Saturday at Longs Park. Palisade led most of the first half of the game. Joe Bravo got a penalty kick, and Dady took it and scored. At half-time, the score was 1-1. After half-time, Palisade took the lead with a goal by Olivieri, his first of the season. Then Summit managed to score three goals in about ten minutes in a rough ending to the game. “It was alright I think we performed really well,” says Joe Bravo. Bravo has played soccer for ten years and is a Senior at Palisade, he is captain of the varsity team along with Isaac Dady. Bravo is a center attacking mid-striker, meaning he stays upfield and attacks. “I went off with an injury after half time,” says Bravo. He pulled his calf and was unfortunately out for the rest of the game. Bravos’s injury was preceded by another devastating injury from Jack Sechrist, a sophomore. “I don’t really know a lot about what happened with Jack, I just saw him go down from the sideline,” says Bravo. Sechrist’s injury caused a delay of game because of the seriousness of his injury.
“Our goalie Eithyn played really well Saturday,” says Bravo, “He had a lot of good saves and he knows how to control and slow down the pace,”. Palisade travels to take on Glenwood on Thursday. “I’m pretty confident, the team is really young so we still have a lot of work to do,” says Bravo. The dogs are ready to break their losing streak and come back for an amazing season.
