Palisades varsity soccer team matched up against Junction Wednesday night but even with an electric student section they had a tough loss of 0 to 4.
The first half of the game started slow with the score ending at 0-1. Palisades defense was on point with many great saves from the goalie Eithyn Jansen. After an injury sustained by Jansen, he had to be taken out of the game and Joe Bravo took his spot. Thankfully after a few minutes, Jansen was ready to get back in the game. With 15 minutes left in the game, it was still 0-1, there was still hope left for the Bulldogs. But sadly Junction scored 3 more points in the final 12 minutes of the game. “It was disappointing, we could of done better for sure,” said Andrew Dady. He is a sophomore who has played for Palisade two years and has been playing soccer since kindergarten. The turnout for Palisades side was amazing with a huge student section full of bulldog spirit and the cheer team keeping the spirit high. Throughout the whole game the student section was hyped and loud. Palisade also played Junction in a JV game earlier Wednesday and tied 1 to 1. “The JV game was great we played really well and played as a team,” says Dady.
Although the loss to Junction was disappointing the Bulldogs will not let it slow them down and get in the way of their strengths. This game was just one hurdle in what’s going to be an amazing season. “It’s time to get back to work,” said Dady.
