Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork
Palisade High School Girls softball mercy ruled Cedaredge in the season home opener. Palisade girls softball wins against Cedaredge High School shutting them out 12-0. This year’s softball team looks promising especially with that win in their back pockets just after four innings. They have a total of six seniors on the team which helps a ton with how they are able to work together. Catcher, Jordan Bauer, helped lead the team to the 12-0 win with 3 RBIs. Pitcher, Mikayla Talbott, threw a tremendous game helping the team with seven strikeouts in 4 innings.
The game against Cedaredge High School started off to a slow start but quickly picked up in the third inning with the Bulldogs adding three runs to the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs then headed on the road and faced Meeker High School for a round of doubleheaders on Saturday and Delta High School on Tuesday. The Bulldogs continued their winning streak winning the first game 12-0 and the second 20-6 against Meeker.
The Bulldogs are now undefeated with four wins. Macie Robertson when asked how she is enjoying the season so far as an incoming freshman responded, “This season is going good so far and I’m glad I got to be on the team with all the amazing girls.”
With a strong start to the season freshman Mackenzie Gray, leads the team in stolen bases with a total of eight. Anaiah Guajardo-Zarate leads the team with a total of 8 runs. Senior, Melissa Carroll, leads the team in RBIs with a whopping total of 9 runs batted in.
