Everyone has heard of “IT”, everyone knows of “IT”, and everyone has probably seen “IT”. But this new series is unlike any of the original movie IT. On October 26, 2025, the new IT: Welcome to Derry was released on Sling and HBO. After 6 years, a mini sequel dupe of the original IT finally comes out.
This series is about a killer clown who feeds off of children’s fear and follows them. And a boy named Miles, who leaves his home. It’s set in a town where strange things start to happen.
After interviewing Junior Jamyson Mancuso about her opinion on the new series, she said, “I think it will be fun, but it will never beat the first movie.” She says that there is no way that this new rip-off series is going to be as good. “I am excited to watch something new series” Mancuso explains. Some Palisade students are excited to watch a new show, especially because it is Halloween week, so they look forward to watching the new prequel series.
And after interviewing Freshman Abi Ellison, she explains “I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve heard of it and it sounds really good, but like a chaper version of the original movie series.” Ellison is looking forward to watching the movie.
With it being Halloween week and with many people who enjoy watching the IT series and scary movies, this is going to be a new movie to watch with excitement and fear. We are hopeful that the movie brings scares for Halloween.
