This year’s Homecoming theme for Palisade High School is a “Circus Soiree.” They released hints over the last two weeks before announcing the theme on the 5th. Freshman Scarlett Roberts says,” I’m not sure I like this year’s Hoco theme. I think it is a weird theme for Homecoming. I just feel like the decorations are going to be strange.” But when asked the same question, Aaron Niebla, a teacher here at Palisade High School, said,” I think it is definitely original, it’s a theme you don’t see a lot, so I’m excited to see how it plays out. The decorations look good. I think it will be fun because, as a teacher, you essentially just see the same Homecoming themes every couple of years. This one is definitely one you don’t see very often.” It’s safe to say Mrs. Niebla is excited. Dazzlyn Carothes a freshman was asked about her reaction to this Homecomming theme, Carothes had to say,” I like it, but at first I thought it was kind of weird because I don’t know what the decorations are going to be like or how I was supposed to dress for it, but I think that’s what makes it a more fun theme, but just over all I hope it is a bunch of fun and it all just comes together in the end.” Overall, let’s just say these dogs are all over the place with their opinions and reactions on the theme for Homecoming. Ultimately, the success of Homecoming depends not just on the theme, but on how we all come together as a school to have a fun night and make this Homecoming reflect our school’s spirit and values.
