Palisade High School girls tennis steps onto the court this season ready to serve, smash, and rally their way to victory. There are several returning athletes along with girls beginning for the first time. Palisade Senior, Annabelle Carter states, “ I feel like we’re going to be a fierce team regardless of our skill level. I think the girls on this team have determination and desire to go out and play their best.” Carter is entering this season as a varsity tennis player and is her last year doing high school tennis. She’s been playing tennis on and off but started to play consistently in the 8th grade. Carter says, “Although the thought of playing singles is alluring, I’d be perfectly content playing one or two doubles this season.” Carter states that in her opinion, her expectations are high with optimism for this upcoming season for girls tennis. Freshman Avery Dorr, is a newcomer who is interested in joining the girls tennis team, she’s been personally playing tennis for three and half years. Dorr states, “I’m expecting to have a good community, because I actually do know a lot of these girls and I know that they’re going to be good and help everybody.” These girls are excited about starting this season for tennis and we hope they have a good and exciting season.
