Many Bulldogs are patiently awaiting the end of the school year and the excitement of summer. For some, this means graduation and starting new beginnings. However, the memories and people at Palisade High School are important aspects of the adolescent experience. So, an element of this are Senior Superlatives in the annual yearbook.
Seniors nominated which classmate fits the most to a certain category using the QR code posted on @phsspirit on Instagram. Nominations began on February 2nd and ended on February 8th. Voting took place February 11th at 8:00 am, until February 14th at 3:15pm.
There were 20 possible superlatives ranging from Best Hair to Most Likely to be on AUX. The 2024-2025 Senior class is packed with talent, beauty, and personality. Each category highlights an individual’s strengths and positivity. Winning such a title like Most Likely to be on Broadway or be President translates directly to one’s future and abilities.
Senior Brittany Villa Valenzuela was an instrumental component to organizing this year’s superlatives along with Seniors Morgan Montgomery, Sofia Reitz, and Grace McAnany. Valenzuela says, “It’s interesting to see who has really made an impact and who other people think should win these things.”
Senior Kaleb Reed explains, “I won Class Dad. At first, I didn’t know whether to take it as a compliment or an insult. I thought that meant I was dictating everyone, but then I asked some classmates and they said it’s because I speak up for others. I like that and I’m happy I won.”
Senior Kennedy Stephen won Most Likely to be Late to Graduation. “I’m still processing that my peers perceive me that way,” Stephen says.
Although these categories may seem silly or unimportant, they truly encapsulate how classmates perceive each other positively. This further reflects the culture of Palisade High School as a close knit community, celebrating student’s achievements, big and small. Awarding these crowns demonstrates Bulldog pride and continues the legacy of Palisade’s ability to nurture fantastic learners. Congratulations to all the winners and see you in the Senior Superlatives in this year’s Yearbook!
