Get ready for an intense game as our Bulldogs take on the Warriors because with every dribble and every shot we’re ready to dominate the court and bring home the victory! On Friday, January 31st , our boys varsity basketball team faced off against the Central Warriors and completely took over the court. As it’s coming close to the end of the season, our boys are playing off with great endings and took on yet another win. The boys are on a win streak!
After talking to starting varsity player CJ Mullaney who is a Senior here at Palisade, he talked about how the team beat their rival school with a breeze. Mullaney says, “I just know we had to want it more than them because last year we didn’t and they were able to beat us.” The team showed the dedication and hard work they have accumulated over the season. Beating the Central warriors this year was a huge win for the team. “We had control over the game, but I’ll never say any game was easy because you have to respect your opponents,” Mullaney said. Our Bulldogs never fail to show pride and respect when playing on the court, no matter the outcome of the game. Mullaney then says, “there’s always something you can change about your performance even after a win like that, there’s always room for improvement.” What an inspiring game with such an incredible outcome. the Bulldogs not only got a win but they gained more than that. They gained mental skill and confidence!
Aidan Shiao is a Sophomore and played in the varsity game against Central. He speaks about his thoughts on the game saying, “I definitely think we gained confidence for sure , especially gaining our second win in a row, it grew a lot of confidence.” Having a good mindset is huge when playing against a team like Central! Not only being patient with yourselves but keeping confidence and loyalty to your team takes a lot of effort and commitment. Make sure to come out and support our fellow Bulldogs before the season ends!
