What’s splashing Bulldogs! On December 7th, Palisade High School and our other high schools in District 51 had their first Swim Meet of the year. The event was set to start at 11:00 AM and continue to go throughout the day. All girls that were interested in swimming met at the Maverick Center at CMU. Senior Kaci Hoskin says, “It was really fun. It definitely was new to a lot of people and it worked out a lot of nerves that new girls might’ve had.” They definitely had some new additions that were interested in joining the swim team for this school year which is exciting and even electrifying for some to see these new people.
Something to know about Hoskin is how she’s been swimming for the past 3 to 4 years now. She really enjoys swimming, especially when it gives off the feeling of competitiveness when all schools are involved. Hoskin states, “I really like it because you really get to see the different levels and how many people there are that also enjoy swimming.”
Since there are new additions to the swim team, it is said that this meet helped inform and project on what will be happening in the upcoming events for the girls swim team. This has helped a lot of new interested swimmers to shake off those nerves and to not be so scared. Hoskin states, “Since we had new girls on the team, a lot of them were nervous, in which the others were informing them how they didn’t need to be afraid and to just use this meet to get all your nerves out so that they could really work for the next couple of weeks.”
So exciting for all the people, especially the Palisade girls who are joining this year’s swim team. We wish you all the best for this season!
