As the weather starts to get cooler, the trees start changing colors and the warm weather comes to an end and unfortunately so does the Boys soccer season. On Thursday, October 17th, the Palisade Boys soccer team played against the Montrose Red Hawks. The game ended in a 4-1 defeat against the Bulldogs with a goal from Junior Jayden Ford. Junior Varsity boys soccer ended in a 2-1 defeat with their goal from Freshmen Yiovanni Galindo. One of the captains of the team, Samuel Urdaneta said “ The level of the game was decent but we struggled to communicate in order to work as best as we could as a team. The biggest challenges as I said before were probably just our communication. We had good chemistry in general, but lacked the final stretch of communication that we needed in order to succeed.” Samuel Urdaneta also stated “ The most memorable thing about the game was watching Jayden score his goal and obviously our Seniors’ last bus ride.” With only 1 more game left in the season, emotions run high through the team having to say goodbye to 8 seniors this year. This year there has been a more clear commitment to perform well amongst the team. Samuel Urdaneta stated “My reflection on this experience is that we just need to move on and prepare for our next game and really be critical of what we need to work on so that we can succeed in our next game.” The Palisade Boys Soccer team’s last game of the season is Tuesday, October 22nd at Colorado Mesa University. Make sure to be there and support the team and seniors last game! Go Bulldogs!
