Palisade gets their first win of the season in a lights out 3-0 victory! On Thursday September 20th, the Palisade Bulldog soccer team played the Fruita Monument Wildcats at Colorado Mesa University. Palisade won 3-0 with 2 goals from Jayden Ford (Junior), and an own goal from Fruita. Palisades JV soccer team also beat Fruita 2-0 with goals from Isaac Yoseph (Sophomore), and Diego Ortiz (Freshman). During the Varsity game, Palisade took the lead off of a corner kick which was hit in by a Fruita player. Jayden Ford scored his first goal of the game not too long after the first goal was scored. Palisade led the game going into the second half 2-0. Jayden Ford closed out the game not long into the second half scoring his second goal. Jayden Ford stated after the game: “ We were really dialed in today. Everyone was moving and playing for each other which definitely boosted morale. I wanna shout out Ronaldo (Ronny) Cordova (Senior), and Cy Hobbs (Sophomore) for being so great to play with in this match too, without them I wouldn’t have scored my two goals and who knows how the game would’ve ended up then.” Jayden Ford also said: “ We still got time to flip this season around and this game proved it. It’s clear what we do well in, and what we need to work on, so I believe if we keep working we can definitely end the season on a high note.” Spirits among the Palisade Soccer team are running very high as they still have nine more games left in the season. Palisade plays against Montrose next on Tuesday the 24th. Go Bulldogs!!!!
