Mr. Tucker, a new teacher and former Palisade student is back at Palisade to teach in the Special Education Department. Mr. Tucker went to Palisade High School, graduated in the spring of 2000, and went on to get a degree in teaching. He has returned to teach here, and now we can learn from his powerful insight on life and how his career has started and continued from there.
Mr. Tucker explained that he had wanted to become a teacher for a long time. “I chose to teach because my dad and my grandpa were both teachers and coaches, so that’s what I went to school for to be a coach and a teacher, that’s what I always wanted to be.” But Mr. Tucker did not always choose to be a Special Education teacher. “I actually went to school for P.E., that was my major, and now I teach SPED here. Part of the reason why is it is a challenge, something new, something I was unfamiliar with, and it forced me to grow and learn, and two was it gave me the opportunity to come back to Palisade which was where I graduated from.” We welcome Mr. Tucker back and thank him for returning to teach us what he has learned.
