Senior ditch day is celebrated every year by high schoolers. Seniors can create great memories, have fun with their classmates, and ditch school for one day, and seniors at Palisade High School are no exception. On April 10th, Palisade had their Ditch Day where Palisade High School seniors got to go bowling with friends at Freeway Bowl here in Grand Junction, Senior Ditch Day is a day where all Seniors have the option of missing school that day and doing something fun, the seniors are not excused from their classes which they don’t care about, they’re not going to school, they get a day to spend with their friends and enjoy one day without the stress of school. I interviewed Senior Brisseida Arteaga, her point of view on this day, “It was fun seeing a lot of people having fun there. There were lots of people, and I think it was a great success.” Student Council typically organizes these events and incentivizes students to spend the day together and enjoy their final few weeks of High School. It’s an exciting time for our soon-to-be-graduated classmates and these small acts of connection will hopefully continue to build memories even in the last few days of their four-year ride.
