Summer 2023 has been a time of excitement and carefree fun. Amongst the many pop culture events such as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and Beyonce’s Renaissance World tour, The Eras Tour has taken first place as arguably the best summer treat!
Pop sensation Taylor Swift has embarked on a about a two year international tour, highlighting previous eras and albums with intricate set designs and bejeweled costumes. The tour started March 17th, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. Since then, Swift has announced multiple new projects like Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Adoring fans attended the concert for three hours of surprises, trading friendship bracelets and fulfilling dreams. Senior Hannah Kasnoff went to The Eras Tour, the second show in Denver. “It was crazy. I thought that Billy Joel in Las Vegas would be the craziest concert that I ever went to but this was even crazier than that! It was a beautiful, magical experience,” states Kasnoff. The production of the concert is carefully thought out, every light applies to a specific era and enhances the euphoric atmosphere. Hannah Kasnoff exclaimed, “Everything was really over the top. They had these white bracelets that had lights in them and then the entire stadium lit up in different parts on beat. It was super high tech!” It is no secret that Taylor Swift has single handedly boosted the economy and tourism in America. The Eras Tour is projected to be the first tour in history to sell more than $1 billion in tickets. Considering the high demand of tickets, prices were and continue to be extravagantly high. Kassnoff admits, “I just assumed I wouldn’t be able to get any so I didn’t even try when everyone else was buying tickets. Then my friend texted me over spring break, ‘Hey, do you want to go to The Eras Tour? I have an extra ticket.’ and I was like ‘Yeah, for sure!’” Not only does The Eras Tour entertain thousands, it also unites them. No matter one’s age, background, identity, Swifties from around the world come together to have the time of their lives!
