Movie Theater Resurrection
COVID 19 brought the downfall of the film industry as movie theaters still fight to
stay open with up-coming box office hits.
When COVID 19 hit with a bang and knocked the entire world to the curb back in 2019, the movie business also went downhill. It was a rough year as theaters all around the United States temporarily shut down because of the lack of customers. Recent research from various sites online have stated “the number of films released to movie theaters has declined by 60 percent or more during the pandemic” (Motion Picture Association). COVID 19 has definitely left a mark on the film industry with many people still questioning if they will ever recover from the major blowout during quarantine. Streaming services have also contributed to the movie industry downfall, causing the “stay-at-home” trend to grow. But slowly and surely, movie theaters everywhere have started opening back up, making large success with recent popular blockbusters. The revival of movie theaters has been a life-saver for everyone, letting people live life “normally” again. Whether it is to get away from the stress of everyday life or to just eat some buttered popcorn, movie theaters are finally making a comeback. In an effort to keep the box office open, movie companies are releasing some upcoming films that are expected to be hits and bring in the crowd:
